Absolute value equations
Printable practice with an answer key the engine computes, at three levels, in as many versions as you need.
Problem types
- |x| = a number: |x| = 7
- a sum or difference inside: |x − 3| = 5
- a coefficient inside: |2x + 1| = 7
- isolate the absolute value first: |x − 3| + 2 = 7
- equal to a negative: no solution: |x + 1| = −4
- equal to zero: one solution: |x − 2| = 0
Sample Sheet · Level 1
- |x| = 9
- |x| = 2
