Area of regular polygons
Printable practice with an answer key the engine computes, at three levels, in as many versions as you need.
Problem types
- the side and the apothem labeled: a regular hexagon with side 10 and apothem 9
- the apothem labeled, the perimeter given: a regular pentagon with apothem 7: its perimeter is 50
- the area and the side given, the apothem missing: The area is 270. Find the apothem.
- the radius given, not the apothem (a square; a hexagon once whole answers are off): a square with radius 5
- the side alone (a hexagon or an equilateral triangle, in simplest radical form): a regular hexagon with side 10
- a word problem: A stop sign is a regular octagon with a side of 12 inches and an apothem of 14 inches. What is its area in square inches?
